Essex County College to Hold Martin Luther King Program
Essex County College will be hosting a Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial on Jan. 20.

Essex County College’s main Newark campus will be hosting its annual Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial program on Tuesday, Jan. 20, the college said.
The event will be free and held in the Mary Burch Theater from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. The keynote speaker for the event will be Dr. Mario Beatty, associate professor of Afro-Amrican Studies at Howard University and International President of the Association for the Study of Classical African Civilization, according to a news release from Essex County College.
Members of the Essex County College Gospel Choir and Entertainment Club and the Arts High School Gospel Choir will also be participating in the memorial program.

The memorial program is sponsored by the college’s Africana Institute and Student Life and Activities Office.
