This heartwarming classic made Elizabeth Taylor a star. Twelve-year old Velvet Brown (Taylor) wants to ride her unruly horse in England’s prestigious Grand National Steeplechase. Mickey Rooney gives a great performance as the young man who helps Velvet train the wild but talented horse. Anne Revere won an Oscar for Best Supporting Actress as Velvet’s mother.
