Let's Get Away From it All - Karen Luschar

Broadway performer, Karen Luschar returns to the Bloomfield Public Library on Sunday, June 5, 2011 at 2pm with a concert entitled Let’s Get Away From it All, accompanied by Richard Danley on the piano.
Go on a journey around the world with classic songs that capture images of far off places….or sometimes places right around the corner.
Karen’s love of traveling led her to write this show, which brings the world to your doorstop. “Sometimes when we are... not actually able to get away, a song can transport us to wonderful places we have been or have always dreamed of visiting. We are reminded of Mark Twain telling us, ‘Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.’ “
Karen is a favorite performer at the library, having presented a number of well received concerts in the library’s Little Theatre. As an actress, singer, dancer, choreographer and voiceover artist, Karen’s work has been seen on Broadway, Off-Broadway, in Law Vegas, Japan, cruise ships, commercials and TV. She has performed in every state except Alaska and has worked with such show business luminaries as Richard Harris, Robert Goulet, Sandy Duncan, Frank Gorshin and George Abbott. She has also choreographed over 100 shows as well as the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade for sixteen years.
This program is made possible in part by funds from the New Jersey State Council on the Arts/Department of State, a Partner Agency of the National Endowment for the Arts and administered by the Essex County Division of Cultural and Historic Affairs.
