Monday Afternoon at the Movies: "FOR LOVE OF IVY"

This romantic comedy stars Abbey Lincoln as Ivy Moore, an African-American maid who  decides to leave her job working for the Austin family to attend secretarial school.  The Austins are desperate to keep her employed with them and devise a scheme to set her up on a date with Jack Parks (Sidney Poiter), a trucking company executive with a questionable past. 

 Poiter wrote the story with a screenplay written by Robert Alan Arthur.
