Expensive Tools Stolen From Work Vans In Bloomfield: Police

Bloomfield Police: One victim said that floor sanders and buffing machines worth $16,000 were missing from his van.

BLOOMFIELD, NJ — A pair of work vans had expensive tools stolen from them last week in Bloomfield, authorities announced Thursday.

The Bloomfield Police Department released the following details about the thefts.

May 24 – “Officers responded to Memorial Parkway on report of a theft from auto. The complainant parked his work van in the lower parking lot on May 20 and when he returned on May 23, he noticed the front passenger window was broken. An iPhone and various tools valued at $2,200 were missing from the van. This incident is under investigation.”

May 28 – “Officers responded to the area of Summit Avenue on report of a theft from auto. A resident had workers come pick up his work van for scheduled work and they advised him that all the tools were missing from the van. Surveillance showed a gray vehicle pull up and park behind the work van and an unknown male exit and break the lock on the work van. A second male exits the vehicle and assists in taking the tools from the van. Various floor sanders and buffing machines valued at $16,000 were taken from the van. This incident is under investigation.”
