BLOOMFIELD, NJ — Bloomfield firefighters battled “heavy fire conditions” during a blaze at a multi-family home on Tuesday, authorities said.

The Bloomfield Division of Public Safety released the following statement about the fire:

“Earlier this evening, the Bloomfield Fire Department responded to a multi-family home on Beardsley Avenue for a fire. Crews were faced with heavy fire conditions on the first floor that spread to the second floor. Engine 2 used an aggressive attack to knock down heavy fire as Truck 1 conducted a primary search. Crews were able to keep the majority of the fire in the area of origin and prevent extension to the rest of the building. No injuries were reported on the scene and the cause of the fire is under investigation.”
