Group Of People Try To Steal Car In Bloomfield; Pickup Truck Stolen
A vehicle theft and an attempted theft were recently reported in Bloomfield, authorities said.

BLOOMFIELD, NJ — A vehicle theft and an attempted theft were reported in Bloomfield last week, authorities announced Wednesday.
The Bloomfield Police Department released the following details about each incident.
July 3 – “Officers responded to the area of Bloomfield Avenue on report of an attempted motor vehicle theft. Video footage shows a teen male break the driver’s side rear window of the vehicle while three other males stood by as lookouts. The male then entered the vehicle through the broken window and broke the steering column in an unsuccessful attempt to steal the vehicle. This incident is under investigation.”

July 9 – “Officers responded to the area of Edison Street on report of a motor vehicle theft. A resident parked his vehicle on Alva Street on July 7 and upon returning to it on July 9, he noticed it was missing. The vehicle, a tan 1999 Ford pickup, was entered into NCIC as stolen. The vehicle was then located in Newark via an Apple AirTag and towed for investigation.”
