Havana Restaurant Burglarized, Bloomfield Cops Arrest Newark Suspects

BLOOMFIELD, NJ — Bloomfield police have arrested two Newark residents in connection with the burglary of Havana Restaurant last weekend.

According to the Bloomfield Police Department, following the Jan. 22 burglary, detectives recovered evidence that led to the arrest of Newark residents Rut Garcia, 26, and Rafael Rodriguez, 32.

Police searched Garcia and Rodriguez’s homes, recovering alleged proceeds from the Havana Restaurant heist, authorities said.

Police charged both suspects with burglary, theft and conspiracy to commit burglary. Both were transported to the Essex County Correctional Facility.
