BLOOMFIELD, NJ — A home burglary and an attempted burglary were recently reported in Bloomfield, authorities say.

The Bloomfield Police Department released the following details about two recent incidents in the township:

June 3 – “Officers responded to the area of Watsessing Avenue on report of a Burglary and Motor Vehicle Theft. A resident found her vehicle, which was previously parked in the driveway, parked in the middle of the street. She then noticed that her parent’s vehicle was missing from the driveway. Upon further inspection, the resident noticed the rear kitchen window was open and the keys to the Land Rover were missing. The owner was able to track the vehicle which was then recovered unoccupied in Union, NJ. This incident is under investigation.”

June 6 – “Officers responded to area of George Street on report of an Attempted Burglary. According to a resident, three males attempted to gain entry into his house through the dining room window using a prybar. As police units arrived, the males fled the area in a gray Hyundai. This incident is under investigation.”
