‘Home Fur The Holidays’: Bloomfield Animal Shelter Adoption Event
The shelter is waiving adoption fees on Dec. 12. Here's what you need to know if you're looking for a new pet in Bloomfield.
BLOOMFIELD, NJ — The Bloomfield Animal Shelter is teaming with a local nonprofit to host a “Home Fur the Holidays” adoption event on Sunday, Dec. 12.
The shelter and Supporters of Bloomfield Animal Shelter (SOBAS) will hold a “same-day” adoption event from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Bloomfield Civic Center, 84 Broad Street.
Interested adopters must bring:

- photo ID
- a rental agreement indicating an approved pet policy or proof of home ownership
- a pet carrier (cats)
Adoption fees will be waived but donations are appreciated. Face masks are required for all attendees. Staff reserve the right to deny any unfit applications, organizers said.
Interested adopters are being encouraged to request an adoption application prior to the event by emailing AdoptAtBas@gmail.com for a copy.
