Hudson County Men Accused Of Bloomfield Auto Burglary Spree
Bloomfield residents reported car burglaries on Berkeley Avenue, Baldwin Place, Morton Street and Orchard Street.

BLOOMFIELD, NJ — Police have arrested two Hudson County men accused of committing several car burglaries in Bloomfield, authorities announced last week.
According to the Bloomfield Police Department, multiple people reported vehicle burglaries on April 29. The incidents took place on Berkeley Avenue, Baldwin Place, Morton Street and Orchard Street. Several people said their cars were “rummaged through” and items were missing.
After responding to each location and gathering possible evidence, police obtained surveillance videos, and later identified two suspects when they used proceeds from the burglaries, authorities said.

On May 2 and 3, Bloomfield detectives arrested Dashawn Bowens, 22, of Jersey City and Willie Martin, 28, of Bayonne, in connection with the burglaries.
Authorities charged Bowens with six counts of burglary, conspiracy to commit burglary and three counts of theft.

Authorities charged Martin with six counts of burglary, conspiracy to commit burglary, three counts of theft and two counts of unlawful use of credit cards.
Martin was arrested for “a similar offense in Hudson County” the day after the Bloomfield burglaries took place, police said.
