At 4 a.m. on Monday, an unknown group hacked the web sites of a number of companies nationwide, including the one that hosts the Bloomfield school district's web sites, officials said. For about two hours, the web sites displayed an ISIS-sponsored YouTube video.
Around 6 a.m., the hacked page was brought down and by about 7 a.m., full functionality and control were restored, school officials said.

U.S. Representative Donald Payne Jr. released the following statement:
"The hacking attacks on the Bloomfield Public School District’s websites highlight the vulnerability of the technology we rely on every day. Internet and technological infrastructure are integral to our school systems. Cyber attacks against school systems have the potential to disrupt school operations and compromise student information. In light of this attack against schools in my district, I am working on federal legislation to address cyber security threats to schools.”
