In her expanded leadership role, Smerick will oversee strategic sales and marketing initiatives supporting Juniper Communities’ growing portfolio. Her work will focus on strengthening occupancy, enhancing community outreach, and supporting regional growth efforts while advancing Juniper’s mission of delivering exceptional senior living care.

Smerick brings 17 years of experience across the senior living industry, including independent living, assisted living, memory care, skilled nursing, home care, continuing care retirement communities, and community lease-up operations. Her background also includes experience in staffing, human resources, operations, business development, and sales and marketing, giving her a broad understanding of the evolving needs of older adults and their families.

Since joining Juniper Communities as Regional Sales Specialist in 2024, Smerick has played an important role in supporting community growth initiatives and strengthening market presence. Her operational insight, collaborative leadership style, and resident-centered approach have contributed to the continued success of Juniper’s communities across the region.

A graduate of the University of Minnesota with a background in communications, Smerick originally planned to pursue journalism before discovering her passion for senior living. Inspired by a family rooted in healthcare, she credits those influences with shaping her commitment to helping others and building meaningful connections with residents, families, and associates alike.
