Frolic for Felines and Boogie for Bow-Wows at the Kids for Critters charity event

NJ families are coming together to raise money for animals while children dance, laugh and meet their favorite characters at Shelter Showcase’s Kids for Critters benefit on November 19, 2017 from 2pm – 5pm at Christ Episcopal Church on 74 Park Ave in Glen Ridge NJ.

Professional children entertainers and local businesses have teamed up with Shelter Showcase to bring families together to support a great cause. Kids for Critters will feature live music performances, guest appearances, fun activities and auction prizes, valuing at a total in the thousands of dollars, for the whole family. Sponsors include Maker Depot, Device Doctors, Shooting Star Dance Center, Drew & Rogers, Itsy Bitsy Dental, Language Rhythm Academy and Leap-ei in Bloomfield NJ.

Jumpin’ Jamie brings his musical “Kindie Rock” & Puppetry show to delight the entire audience. Kids will jump for joy during the bubble and balloon show donated by George the Magician, a magic show by ILandMagic and face painting and balloon twisting by Parties by Colby Ann. Elmo and Paw Patrol will make guest appearances thanks to ILandMagic. Shooting Star Dance Center, a local dance studio for children and Partner Sponsor of the event, will provide a lovely performance by some of their students, and Language Rhythm Academy, whose unique curriculum features Spanish and French language instruction taught through music, will provide an interactive demo.

The event will feature a live and silent auction with prizes worth thousands of dollars. Auction prizes include dance and Zumba classes at Shooting Star Dance Center, and other prizes, including a healing massage from Elements Massage Montclair, a Masterpiece Portrait by Masana NYC, memberships at CrossFit Press On and Lifetime Fitness, music for private parties by Jane Durham, a kids birthday party at Leap-ei and much more.

The event is being organized with the help of several young volunteers, including Ezra Cruz from Bloomfield, NJ. “I hope a lot of people come to the event so we can help many animals, and I hope no one eats meat or milk that day,” says Ezra Cruz, age 7 of Bloomfield NJ who has been raised vegan. His mother, Beth Cruz of Bloomfield, NJ is the president and founder of Shelter Showcase. “We are honored to be able to help animals and support great rescue organizations with our work. We are building a more compassionate world for our children, and kindness is the best thing we can teach them.”

Shelter Showcase is an all-volunteer 501c3 nonprofit that serves our animal friends and fellow humans by helping homeless pets find homes, and working to prevent the heartbreaking situation of families needing to
relinquish pets to shelters. Shelter Showcase frequently donates funds to support the great work and projects by other rescue organizations, animal shelters and sanctuaries. Shelter Showcase respects all animals equally, so all their events are deliciously vegan.
