Lego League and Robotics at St. Thomas the Apostle School

The Lego League and Robotics Program at St. Thomas the Apostle School is beginning this school year with large aspirations

Legos, Robotics, Engineering, Competition, this would sound great to everyone! At St. Thomas the Apostle School in Bloomfield this idea has become a reality for students in grades 4-8. Students are given the opprotunity to have a hands on approach to the world of robotics and engineering. Building the robot is one thing, however making it move, completing obstacles, and finish courses is a whole different task. Codes need to be written, directions need to be given to allow the robot to understand how to perform on the “grid”. This is a great opprotunity for students of all ages to be given a hands on approach into the world of Legos, Robotics, and Code Writing. The Lego League competes throughout the year at several events, most of them held at the Liberty Science Center against other schools from around the state even the East Coast of the Country. It is a great accomplishment and opprotunity for these students to be able to take part in this wonderful extra curricular activity.
