Major Sewer Collapse In Bloomfield Will Affect Traffic For 3 Days
A "major sewer collapse" took place near the Garden State Parkway in Bloomfield. It will affect traffic until Friday, officials said.
BLOOMFIELD, NJ — A “major sewer collapse” is expected to impact traffic in a section of Bloomfield for three days, officials said Wednesday.
The Bloomfield Police Department released the following advisory about the collapse:
“Please be advised that due to a major sewer collapse at JFK Drive North at Liberty Street in Bloomfield, JFK Drive North at Montgomery Street will be closed to traffic starting Wednesday morning, Jan. 18 to Friday evening, Jan. 20.”
In an update, police said there is only one lane for the Garden State Parkway north access at Montgomery Street.

“Commuters should plan an alternate route to points heading north of Bloomfield,” police said.
