Man Points Gun At People In Car, Bloomfield Police Say

A man and a woman started to curse at the occupants of a car. Then the man pulled out a handgun, police said.

BLOOMFIELD, NJ — A gun was pointed at the occupants of a car during an incident in Bloomfield last week, authorities said Thursday.

According to the Bloomfield Police Department, officers responded to the 300-block of Bloomfield Avenue on Sept. 13 after getting a report about an “aggravated assault.”

The complainants told police that a man and a woman in a car parked nearby began to curse at them. As words were being exchanged, the man allegedly pointed a handgun at them and made threats, and the pair drove away, police said.
