Man Punched Unconscious At Bloomfield College ‘Welcome Back’ BBQ: Police

BLOOMFIELD, NJ — An unknown assailant punched a 20-year-old man during a welcome back barbecue event hosted at the Bloomfield College campus last month, authorities say.

According to the Bloomfield Police Department, officers responded to a report of a crowd at the Aug. 31 event and found an unconscious, 20-year-old male at the scene.

Witnesses told officers that a person punched the victim then fled the area.

Belleville emergency responders treated the victim, who regained consciousness and was transported to Mountainside Hospital for further observation, police said.

Campus security cameras that allegedly captured images of the suspect were forwarded to the police for further investigation, authorities said.
