Man Steals Mercedes From Bloomfield Car Dealership: Police

BLOOMFIELD, NJ — A man stole a Mercedes Benz from a car dealership in Bloomfield earlier this month when the owner temporarily left the key fob in the vehicle, authorities said.

According to the Bloomfield Police Department, the theft took place on March 18 at a business on Bloomfield Avenue.

The dealership owner said he moved a silver 2010 Mercedes Benz GL450 from the lot to the street to access another car. The Mercedes was parked with the key fob left inside.

A man then got into the car and drove away east on Bloomfield Avenue, police said.

The vehicle was entered NCIC stolen.

According to police, the victim described the suspected thief as a tall, “average sized” male wearing a green, puffy jacket with a grey, hooded sweatshirt underneath with the hood over his head. He was also wearing camouflage pants, black sneakers and white socks.
