BLOOMFIELD, NJ — A shoplifting incident at a supermarket in Bloomfield turned into a robbery when a man threatened the store manager with a box cutter last week, authorities said Friday.
According to the Bloomfield Police Department, officers responded to the Stop & Shop on Franklin Street on Aug. 4 after getting a report about a man with a knife on the premises.
The store manager told the officers that a man later identified as Justin Anderson, 29, of Newark, concealed $337 in various health and beauty products and left the store without paying.
