Meet the Candidate: Carlos Bernard
Carlos Bernard is seeking election in November as a Democratic candidate in the 3rd Ward.

Carlos Bernard is running for to bring a strong voice for the Bloomfield’s 3rd Ward to the Township Council. Recognized for his strong record of community service throughout the Township, Mr. Bernard will work with the Council to protect Bloomfield’s open spaces for the benefit of our children and families, revitalize the local economy, and maintain our high standards for public service at manageable, responsible costs. Mr. Bernard cares deeply for Bloomfield residents. In the past he has led community cleanups and assisted residents in need after Hurricane Irene damaged area properties. Bloomfield deserves a thoughtful neighbor such as Mr. Bernard serving on the municipal council.
The proud father of growing boys, Mr. Bernard is committed to providing safe and enjoyable recreation to Bloomfield’s children. As Third Ward Council he will ensure that existing Bloomfield open space is protected while improving our parks and recreational programs. Mr. Bernard will seek out opportunities for further open space preservation to give our children and families more space to enjoy Bloomfield’s natural environment.
To revitalize Bloomfield’s economy in these tough times, Mr. Bernard will continue progress on the Bloomfield Center redevelopment project and encourage local hiring for that and other construction efforts. Through this vision, along with ensuring that municipal taxes are kept low through energy efficiency and responsible government, Mr. Bernard will chart a course toward recovery and economic success.

On Thursday night, October 27 a "Meet the Candidate" Forum will take place at Bloomfield College’s Van Fossan Theatre from 7:00 - 9:00 pm. The public is invited to meet the local contestants running for the three ward council seats on the ballot in the November 8 general election.
