Men Steal Vehicle From Bloomfield Town Public Works Garage: Police

BLOOMFIELD, NJ — Bloomfield recently saw two car thefts, including an incident where three men stole a vehicle from the municipal Department of Public Works and Parks garage, authorities said.

The Bloomfield Police Department released the following statements about each theft.

June 17 – “Officers responded to Lawrence Street on report of a stolen motor vehicle. The owner parked his 2017 Nissan Versa in front of the location at 6 p.m. on June 16. When he returned the next morning at 5:30 a.m., the vehicle was missing. The vehicle was entered NCIC stolen. This incident is under investigation.”

June 19 – “Officers responded to 230 Grove Street (Township of Bloomfield DPW garage) on report of a stolen motor vehicle. A DPW supervisor observed three males on video surveillance entering numerous town trucks looking for tools. The suspects later located a vehicle in the fenced-in area and utilized the vehicle to drive through the gate to escape. This incident is under investigation.”
