Men Try To Steal Vehicles At Bloomfield Car Dealership: Police
A vehicle theft and two attempted thefts were recently reported in Bloomfield, authorities said.

BLOOMFIELD, NJ — A vehicle theft and two attempted thefts were reported in Bloomfield last week, authorities announced Wednesday.
According to the Bloomfield Police Department, the following incidents recently took place in the township. All are currently under investigation, authorities said.
Dec. 8 – Officers responded to 13 Race Street (Bloomfield BMW) after getting a report about an attempted motor vehicle theft. A manager said that a black BMW X5 with Connecticut license plates and three men inside was spotted circling around the car dealership. Video surveillance shows two of the men pulling on door handles of cars in the parking lot in attempt to get inside. The suspects managed to gain entry to one car, but weren’t able to start it. They eventually got back into the X5 and fled the scene, police said.

Dec. 9 – Officers responded to the area of Chester Avenue and North 16th Street after getting a report about a motor vehicle theft. The victim said he was putting tools in the trunk of his white 2014 Nissan Altima and left it unlocked and running. A white Honda pulled up alongside the car, and a male passenger got into his vehicle and fled the area, police said.
Dec. 10 – Officers responded to the area of Rutgers Place after getting a report about an attempted motor vehicle theft. A resident said she parked her vehicle on the street overnight, and when she returned to it the following morning, she noticed the front passenger window was shattered. The door was also left open and the center console was rummaged through. There were several pry marks on the ignition and steering column, police said.
