Missing Bloomfield Man Last Seen At West Orange Nursing Home (UPDATED)

Police in Bloomfield are asking for the public’s help finding a missing 87-year-old man who was last seen visiting his wife at a nursing home in West Orange, authorities say.
According to the Bloomfield Police Department, Charles Newcomer, 87, was reported missing by his family on Friday.

The family member told police that their last contact took place around 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, when Newcomer left from visiting his wife at the Brookdale assisted living facility in West Orange.
Police said Newcomer is traveling in a red 2016 Jeep Wrangler bearing the New Jersey registration SC688E. The vehicle has a tire cover of the Marine Corps symbol on the spare tire.

According to the E-ZPass account associated with the Jeep, the vehicle went through the Lincoln Tunnel on Thursday, and hit again in Queens on Friday morning, police said.
Newcomer – who has been diagnosed with onset dementia – was last seen wearing a black cap with a veteran symbol on it, black jacket and black pants. He has a deformed right ear due to cancer, and a tattoo of the Marine Corps symbol on his bicep, police said.
