Montclair Driver’s Catalytic Converter Stolen In Bloomfield: Police

ESSEX COUNTY, NJ — A Montclair resident’s catalytic converter was recently stolen while he parked overnight in Bloomfield, authorities said.

The Bloomfield Police Department released the following statement on Monday about the incident, which took place on June 19:

“A Montclair resident responded to Bloomfield Police Headquarters to report a theft of a catalytic converter. The theft occurred in the area of Hinrichs Place. The vehicle was parked at the location overnight, and when he started it the next morning, it sounded different. He then drove the vehicle to his mechanic and they advised him that the catalytic converter was missing. This incident is under investigation.”
