Montclair Man Caught In Stranger's Car: Bloomfield PD

BLOOMFIELD, NJ — Bloomfield police arrested a Montclair man after he allegedly struck a woman in the head after being caught in her husband’s car earlier this month, authorities said.

According to the Bloomfield Police Department, an officer responded to a report of a robbery at a Bay Avenue home on June 17. On arrival, the officer spoke with the resident, who said that she was outside with her dog when she saw an unknown man in her husband’s vehicle.

When she approached and confronted the man, he allegedly hit her in the head and fled the scene on foot, police said. About $130 in cash and $76 in coins were missing from the vehicle.

Bloomfield officers arrested Ibn Muhammad, 19, of Montclair, and charged him with robbery in connection with the incident.
