Students at Bloomfield High School reported that several cell phones were stolen while they were in class last week, authorities say.

Bloomfield, NJ – Students at Bloomfield High School reported that several cell phones were stolen while they were in class last week, authorities said.

According to the Bloomfield Police Department, the incident took place while school was in session on March 9.

The stolen phones had been placed in the back of the classroom to charge, police stated.

The Bloomfield Police Youth Aid Division and the School Resource Officer are investigating the alleged thefts, authorities stated.

In a separate incident that day, a cell phone valued at $750 was allegedly stolen from a backpack at Clarks Park while its owner was playing basketball, police said.
