Pizza Delivery Driver Pummeled, Robbed In Bloomfield: Police

BLOOMFIELD, NJ — A delivery driver in Bloomfield was allegedly robbed and beaten while on the job this week. To add insult to injury, the assailant also escaped with the pizza, police said.

According to the Bloomfield Police Department, officers responded to Morse Avenue on Dec. 23 after receiving a report about a robbery.

The victim, a pizza delivery driver, told officers that he was dropping off an order to a nearby apartment building, when a 5 foot 11 inch man in a ski mask and black leather jacket approached him and demanded he hand over his money and food.

The man pummeled the delivery driver, “punching him numerous times” and “forcibly taking the pizza.” He then fled the scene on foot, police said.

Bloomfield police are investigating the incident, authorities said. No additional information was immediately available.
