Primary Election 2018: New Jersey District 10 (Results Here)

Veteran lawmaker Donald Payne Jr. faces a challenge for the Democratic nomination. The winner will duke it out with the GOP's Agha Khan.

New Jersey residents headed to the polls on Tuesday to vote in the 2018 Primary Election, which will determine the Democratic and Republican candidates for the U.S. House of Representatives in the General Election this November.

In the state’s 10th Congressional District - which includes parts of Essex, Union and Hudson counties – Agha Khan of Jersey City ran unopposed in the June 5 Primary Election for the Republican party nomination. (Learn more about Khan here)

Incumbent Donald Payne Jr., a Newark resident who has served in the 10th District since 2012, faced off against challenger Aaron Walter Fraser of Jersey City for the Democratic party nomination.

Unofficial election results follow below, via Politico.com (check back here for recent results, last updated 6/5):

  • Payne Jr. – 33,253 votes (91.7%)
  • Fraser – 3,005 votes (8.3%)
