PSEG Will Remove, Trim Trees In Bloomfield: Here’s Why

The trees being removed include an Ash tree, several large Oaks and a Maple tree with "rot that can be seen at eye level."

BLOOMFIELD, NJ — PSE&G will be trimming and removing some trees along Glenwood Avenue in Bloomfield over the coming weeks, township officials announced Tuesday.

PSE&G is performing the maintenance work to upgrade its equipment and infrastructure and maintain proper clearances from energized electrical wires. Workers will replace all of the trees that are removed at a two-to-one ratio, and will work with the Essex County Parks Department to determine the new locations for the trees, town officials said.

According to municipal officials, the project includes trimming nine trees and removing five trees along the border of the park and Glenwood Ave. The trees being trimmed include two Sycamores, a large Maple, five Oaks and a Tulip.
