BLOOMFIELD, NJ — There’s some good news for drivers and people worried about local flooding, Bloomfield town officials say: Ampere Parkway is getting a big facelift.
The township recently announced that a roadway resurfacing project is being launched on Ampere Parkway from Bloomfield Avenue to Floyd Avenue. As part of the “comprehensive initiative,” piping and catch basins in the area will also see upgrades aimed at improving stormwater drainage.

“The focal point of the project involves replacing undersized drainage pipes beneath the island between Royalton Place and Turnbridge Road, which requires the removal of existing trees in the vicinity. However, in an effort to maintain and enhance green spaces within the community, every tree affected by the project will be replaced upon completion. The township is also making infrastructure improvements in other locations to enhance overall road quality, with ongoing resurfacing projects on Raab Avenue, Rowe Place, the installation of new curbs on Emerson Terrace and Davidson Road, and a resurfacing project beginning this spring on Chester Avenue from North 15th Street to Grove Street.”
Bloomfield officials said the paving may last until the spring arrives.
Construction sites will be maintained in a “safe and clean manner” once activities cease for the season, officials said.
