Dozens of Runners Compete in Berkeley School 5K
Blue skies and sun brought out a crowd of runners.
The Second Annual Berkeley School 5K Run/Fitness Walk drew dozens of runners and supporters on Sunday.
This race was organized to benefit Berkeley Elementary School Students through enrichment activities, scholarships, school trips, after-school programs, supplies, yearbooks, graduation and other activities.
Vice president of the Berkeley Home & School Association Vice President Yessenia Montalvo said 100 runners registered for the event and that they were assisted by 12 volunteers from the Army/Airforce Recruiting Center on Broad Street.

"Everyone was happy that this event has become the biggest one in our Berkeley School community," Montalvo said. "It shows that we care for our students, staff and teachers."
