Shoplifter Pulls Knife On Manager At Bloomfield Store: Police
A shoplifting incident ended with a robbery charge at a discount store in Bloomfield, authorities say.

BLOOMFIELD, NJ — A shoplifting incident ended with a robbery charge last week at a discount store in Bloomfield, authorities say.
The Bloomfield Police Department released the following statement about the incident, which took place on Jan. 31 at the 99-Cent And Discount Depot:
“Officers responded to 12 Arlington Avenue (99 Cent Dreams) on report of a robbery. According to the store manager, a male concealed a can opener, candles and hydrogen peroxide then attempted to leave the store without paying. The items were valued at $6.28. The suspect, [Brian DeBreo, 32, of Somerset], was confronted by the manager and an altercation ensued. During the altercation, the suspect brandished a knife, causing a minor laceration to the manager. Officers arrived and placed the suspect under arrest.”
DeBreo was transported to Bloomfield Police Headquarters and charged with robbery.
