Bloomfield police are searching for a shoplifting suspect accused of brandishing a knife at a local store owner.

BLOOMFIELD, NJ — Bloomfield police are searching for a shoplifting suspect after he allegedly brandished a knife at a local store owner last week, authorities announced Thursday.
According to the Bloomfield Police Department, officers responded to Purple Beauty Supply at 311 Glenwood Avenue on Dec. 1 after getting a report about a shoplifting incident.
The store manager told officers that a man entered the business and tried to take hair products without paying for them. When the store owner allegedly recognized the man from a previous shoplifting incident and tried to confront him, the man took out a “switchblade-type knife” and pointed it at him, police said.
