Shotgun-Wielding Man Robs Bloomfield Deli, Bashes Worker: Police
An armed robber hit a deli worker over the head with a shotgun and made his escape in a Jeep, Bloomfield police said.

BLOOMFIELD, NJ — Bloomfield police are searching for a shotgun-wielding man who hit a deli worker over the head with his weapon during a robbery, authorities said Friday.
According to the Bloomfield Police Department, the robbery took place around 6 p.m. on July 22 at Gerard’s Deli on Hoover Avenue when a man walked into the store carrying a shotgun.
The man threatened the employee on duty and demanded money, then hit him over the head with his gun and ran out of the store, where a second man was waiting behind the wheel of a black Jeep Cherokee, police said.

Police are investigating the robbery and actively searching for the two men, authorities said Friday.
The man with the shotgun had a thin build, was about 5 feet 8 inches and weighed from 155 to 160 pounds. The man driving the Jeep was wearing a white t-shirt and had a tattoo on his left arm, authorities said.
