St. Francis of Assisi ANCC in Glen Ridge Celebrates the Solemnity of Corpus Christi with Joyful Procession.

The parish community of St. Francis of Assisi, a welcoming and inclusive parish of the American National Catholic Church, gathered on Sunday to celebrate the Solemnity of Corpus Christi, one of the Church’s most cherished feasts honoring the Real Presence of Christ in the Eucharist.

The celebration began with a solemn and prayerful Mass, filled with reverence, music, and the participation of parish families and neighbors. As is customary for this feast, the liturgy concluded with a Eucharistic procession and Benediction, a tradition that brings the worship of the Eucharistic Lord out into the world.

This year’s procession was led with special joy by the children who recently received their First Holy Communion. Dressed in their white attire and carrying small banners and flowers, they guided the community along the outdoor route as the Blessed Sacrament was carried beneath the canopy. Their presence added a beautiful reminder of innocence, faith, and the future of the Church.

Parishioners and visitors walked together in prayer, song, and gratitude, pausing at outdoor altars for moments of reflection and blessing. The celebration concluded with Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament, drawing the community into a moment of quiet awe and devotion.
