St. Thomas students create pumpkins from their stories
Students in grades Kindergarten through 2nd have been using this fall season as a time to read and be creative

St. Thomas the Apostle School teachers utilize a variety of innovative methods to have their students enjoy reading. From the D.E.A.R. (Drop Everything and Read) Method to transitioning from reading to art. Throughout the month of October students in grades Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd have read stories of their own choosing and have created pumpkins to depict characters from those stories. Talk about hands on learning. This is just one item that goes along with new tactics utilized by the teachers of these grades. "ReadWorks" has become a strong tool in the classroom allowing the students to utilize various methods of technology to enhance their reading skills.
