Stolen Vehicles, Attempted Car Theft Reported In Bloomfield: Police

BLOOMFIELD, NJ — Several motor vehicle crimes were reported in Bloomfield last week, authorities announced Wednesday.

The Bloomfield Police Department released the following details about each incident.

April 11 – Officers responded to the 200-block of Ampere Parkway on report of a motor vehicle theft. A resident left his vehicle in his driveway running, with the doors unlocked while he went inside his home to retrieve clothing. When he returned to his driveway, he noticed that his vehicle was missing. The vehicle, a 2014 blue BMW 5S, was entered into NCIC as stolen. This incident is under investigation.

April 12 – Officers responded to the 200-block of Memorial Parkway on report of a motorcycle theft. The complainant parked his motorcycle in a personal spot in the parking garage and when he returned to it, it was missing. Video surveillance showed a white minivan with no license plates load the motorcycle and flee the scene. The motorcycle, a red 2017 Ducati Monster, was entered into NCIC as stolen. This incident is under investigation.

April 13 – Officers responded to the 100-block of Willard Avenue on report of a motor vehicle theft. A resident parked her vehicle in her driveway and when she returned, the vehicle was missing. The key fob was left in the vehicle. The vehicle, a white 2019 BMW X5, was entered into NCIC as stolen. This incident is under investigation.

April 15 – Officers responded to the 10-block of Division Street on report of an attempted auto theft. A resident parked her vehicle in the parking lot and when she returned to it the following morning, she noticed the ignition was damaged. This incident is under investigation.
