Teens Flee After Trying To Steal Expensive Car Part In Bloomfield: PD
Another catalytic converter theft was reported in Bloomfield, with an attempted theft taking place just three days later, authorities said.
BLOOMFIELD, NJ — Another catalytic converter theft was reported in Bloomfield last week, with an attempted theft taking place just three days later, authorities said.
According to the Bloomfield Police Department, the following incidents were recently reported in the township.
Nov. 21 – “Officers responded to the area of Gillespie Road on report of a theft. A resident parked her vehicle on the street on Nov. 18. When she returned to it the following morning, she noticed that the catalytic converter was removed. This incident is under investigation.”

Nov. 24 – “Officers responded to the area of Marcy Street on report of a theft. A resident reported that three male juveniles attempted to cut the catalytic converter from underneath his vehicle but were unsuccessful. A neighbor reported observing the incident and trying to intervene, however the three suspects fled on foot. This incident is under investigation.”
