Thefts In Bloomfield Involve Repossessed Car, DoorDash, Sneakers: PD
Recent thefts involved a repossessed car, an accused DoorDash driver and $8,000 worth of shoes, Bloomfield police said.

BLOOMFIELD, NJ — Multiple thefts were reported in Bloomfield last week, including incidents involving a repossessed car, an accused DoorDash driver and $8,000 worth of shoes, authorities said Thursday.
The Bloomfield Police Department released the following details about three recent thefts that took place in the township:
Jan. 30 – “Officers responded to the 200-block of Belleville Avenue on report of a theft from auto. A resident had his vehicle towed for repossession. Upon retrieving his vehicle from the impound yard, he noticed that his driver’s license, passport, and social security card were missing from his glove box. The resident is unsure if his vehicle was burglarized prior to or after it being towed. This incident is under investigation.”

Jan. 31 – “Officers responded to the area of Elmwood Avenue on report of a package theft. According to a resident, a DoorDash [driver] dropped off food at her residence and then took her Amazon package from the front porch. After reviewing surveillance footage, it was confirmed that the DoorDash driver took the package. The package contained a pair of Hagger men's suit pants valued at $59. This incident is under investigation.”
Feb. 2 – “Officers responded to the area of Monroe Place on report of a theft. A resident had numerous people at his residence that he knew from when they were in high school. After drinking for some time with the individuals, he fell asleep. When he woke up, all the individuals left and 21 pairs of his sneakers valued at $8,000 were missing. This incident is under investigation.”
