Thief Breaks Into Rent Drop Box At Bloomfield Apartment Building

BLOOMFIELD, NJ — Someone recently broke into a rent drop box at an apartment building in Bloomfield, which was missing dozens of checks afterwards, police said Tuesday.

According to the Bloomfield Police Department, officers responded to Forest Hill Properties on Davey Street on Nov. 4 after getting a report about a theft.

According to the building manager, the rent drop box that is bolted to the outside of the building was broken into and left open, police said.

There were about 50 checks missing from the box at the time of the report. An investigation continues, police said.
