Vehicle Thefts Reported At Bloomfield Pizzeria, Car Dealership: Police

Vehicle thefts were reported at a pizzeria and a car dealership in Bloomfield. A Range Rover was spotted at both thefts, police said.

BLOOMFIELD, NJ — Vehicle thefts were reported at a local pizzeria and a car dealership in Bloomfield last week, with a Range Rover being spotted at both incidents, police said Tuesday.

According to the Bloomfield Police Department, the following thefts were recently reported in the township:

Aug. 30 – Officers responded to 1047 Broad Street (Popolari Pizza) after getting a report about a stolen motor vehicle. The owner parked her vehicle in front of the pizzeria at approximately 3:45 p.m. with the key fob inside. When she returned, she noticed that her vehicle was missing. A witness said the vehicle was taken by three men, who were being followed by a Range Rover. The stolen vehicle, a black 2021 Mercedes G35, was entered into the National Crime Information Center as stolen.

Aug. 31 - Officers responded to 318 Bloomfield Avenue (Lynnes Nissan) after getting a report about a motor vehicle theft. The complainant said a black Range Rover pulled up to the location and a man exited the vehicle and jumped the fence of the dealership. The man then entered an Audi Q8 wagon that was parked with the key fob in the dealership parking lot. The suspect drove the vehicle out of the lot and both vehicles fled the scene. The vehicle, a black 2019 Audi Q8 SUV, was entered into the National Crime Information Center as stolen.
