'Victim' Of Bloomfield Robbery Was Really A Suspect, Police Say
A Bloomfield man is accused of falsely reporting that he was the victim of a robbery at Wright's Field.
A 24-year-old Bloomfield man who claimed that he was the victim of a robbery at Wright’s Field on Friday night was really a suspect all along, police say.
According to Bloomfield police, two Newark residents – ages 18 and 20 – reported that they were assaulted and robbed while walking at the municipally owned field around 11 p.m.
When officers arrived on the scene, they found and detained Stefon Williams, who initially portrayed himself as a victim of the robbery.

Upon further investigation and identification by the two Newark residents, police concluded that Williams had participated in the robbery and wasn’t a victim.
After obtaining more information via further investigation, police issued an arrest warrant for a second suspect, Octavious Moore, 21, of Hillside.

Moore turned himself in to authorities on Saturday.
Police charged the men with robbery and conspiracy to commit robbery. Williams was additionally charged with false reporting.
