BLOOMFIELD, NJ — Road construction will continue on Broad Street in Bloomfield after a water main break earlier this week, authorities said Thursday.

On Tuesday evening, the Bloomfield Police Department announced that road construction and water main repairs were taking place on Broad Street between Sunset Avenue and Glen Ridge Parkway.

The repairs closed the southbound lane of traffic on Broad Street at Sunset Avenue to Essex Avenue. Drivers should expect delays and plan another route, authorities said.

The road work will continue Thursday at 9 a.m., Bloomfield police said in an update, repeating their suggestion to expect delays and plan an alternate route. Officers will be at the scene directing traffic.
