Wave Of Stolen Cars Reported In Bloomfield: See Latest Thefts
Bloomfield police said six car thefts were reported between Oct. 2 and Oct. 7. Here's where they happened.

BLOOMFIELD, NJ — A wave of new car thefts recently hit Bloomfield, police announced Thursday.
The Bloomfield Police Department released the following details about each theft.
Oct. 2 - Officers responded to the 200-block of Bloomfield Avenue after getting a report about a motor vehicle theft. A resident was making a food delivery and left his vehicle unlocked and running. Upon returning to the vehicle after the delivery, he noticed it was missing. The vehicle, a white 2011 Toyota Yaris, was entered as stolen. This incident is under investigation.

Oct. 4 – Officers responded to the area of Fitzherbert Street after getting a report about a motor vehicle theft. According to a resident, his trailer and ATV were parked in the driveway behind a second vehicle. At 3:04 a.m., a white jeep and white pickup pulled up to the residence. The suspects removed the second vehicle from the driveway, leaving it parked in the street. The suspects then hooked up the trailer to the pickup truck and drove away. The incident was captured on their Ring camera. The trailer and ATV were entered as stolen. This incident is under investigation.
Oct. 5 – Officers responded to the 300-block of Broughton Avenue after getting a report about a motor vehicle theft. A resident parked his vehicle on the street overnight and upon returning to it the following morning, he noticed it was missing. The vehicle was left unlocked with the keys inside. The vehicle, a white 2005 Ford SRW, was entered as stolen. This incident is under investigation.

Oct. 6 – Officers responded to the 200-block of Hoover Avenue after getting a report about a motor vehicle theft. The complainant parked his vehicle in the parking lot around 11 p.m. and when he returned, he noticed it was missing. There was broken glass where the vehicle was parked. The vehicle, a white 2022 Dodge Charger, was entered as stolen. This incident is under investigation.
Oct. 6 – Officers responded to the 200-block of Davey Street after getting a report about a motor vehicle theft. A resident parked his vehicle in the parking lot behind the building overnight and upon returning to it the following morning, he noticed it was missing. The vehicle, a green 1999 Honda Civic, was entered as stolen. This incident is under investigation.
Oct. 7 – Officers responded to the 100-block of Walnut Street after getting a report about a motor vehicle theft. The complainant parked her vehicle on the street overnight and upon returning to it the following morning, she noticed it was missing. The vehicle, a black 2019 Chevrolet TRX, was entered as stolen. This incident is under investigation.
