BLOOMFIELD, NJ — The Bloomfield Planning Board is scheduled to hold hearings on several applications on Tuesday, including a plan to build Wendy’s and Taco Bell restaurants across the street from an elementary school.

The board is slated to hear an application from Finomus Bloomfield RE Holdings LLC at their meeting on Dec. 6. The owner of the property wants to demolish the existing building at 1243 Broad Street – which formerly housed a Friendly’s restaurant – and build a new one that would be home to a Wendy’s and a Taco Bell. The applicant is seeking preliminary and final major site plan approval, bulk variances and any such other relief as may be required from Bloomfield’s zoning ordinance to develop a restaurant in a neighborhood business B-2 zone.

Meanwhile, new business scheduled for the Dec. 6 meeting includes:

  • 180-190 Ashland Avenue Block 215, Lots 2 & 7 Zone: RG Applicant/Owner: Ashland Associates, LLC Application: seeking preliminary and final site plan approval, 3 bulk variances and any such other relief as may be required from the Zoning Ordinance to add parking and fencing in a RG zone.
  • 400-404 Watsessing Avenue Block 424, Lots 25, 26, 27, 32, 34 and 36 Zone: R-2B Applicant/Owner: MVJ Enterprises, LLC Application: seeking minor subdivision and any such other relief as may be required from the Zoning Ordinance to consolidate and lot line adjustment of 5 existing lots into 3 conforming lots in a R-2B zone.
  • 87-89 Broughton Avenue Block 817, Lot 1 Zone: B-2 Applicant: Deanna Wilson Owner: Livio & Filomena Santaniello Application: seeking preliminary and final site plan approval and any such other relief as may be required from the Zoning Ordinance to operate a day care center in a B-2 zone.
