Construction work has begun on two Green Acres-funded projects, with a goal of finishing before baseball and softball opening day.

BLOOMFIELD, NJ — Construction work has begun on two Green Acres-funded projects in Bloomfield.

According to a social media post from the township:

“The Bloomfield Parks, Recreation & Cultural Affairs Department is taking advantage of the warm weather we have been experiencing and is getting a head start on the Green Acres construction projects at Vassar Field and Clarks Pond South. This past week our contractor started at Vassar Field and as soon as they are done (this upcoming week) they will head over to Clarks Pond South. It's our goal to have both of these projects completed before baseball and softball opening day. We would like to thank the Green Acres program for selecting this worthwhile project!”
