Work Van With $15K Worth Of Tools Stolen In Bloomfield: Police

BLOOMFIELD, NJ — Someone recently stole a Bloomfield resident’s work van – which contained expensive tools – and also rummaged through his second vehicle, authorities announced Wednesday.

The Bloomfield Police Department released the following statement about the theft, which took place on Sept. 11:

“Officers responded to the area of North 15th Street after getting a report about a motor vehicle theft. A resident parked his work van in his driveway and when he returned, he noticed it was missing. The complainant’s second vehicle, which was parked in front of the residence, was also rummaged through. The spare key to the work van was taken from inside the complainant’s second vehicle. Surveillance video shows a male unlocking the van with the key.”

The van – a white 2021 Nissan N20 – contained work equipment valued at $15,000.

The theft is under investigation, police said Wednesday.
