World War II Burial Plaque Stolen From Bloomfield Cemetery: Police
A resident told police that a bronze World War II burial commemorative plaque was stolen from her father's gravesite.
BLOOMFIELD, NJ — A bronze burial plaque was stolen from a gravesite in Bloomfield last week, authorities reported Thursday.
According to the Bloomfield Police Department, the theft – which took place at Mount Olivet Cemetery – was reported on April 20.
A resident told officers that a bronze World War II burial commemorative plaque was stolen from her father’s gravesite. The plaque was installed into the ground in 1981; the last time she saw it was around Labor Day 2021, police said.

The plaque was valued at about $1,500. A police investigation continues, authorities said.
