1 Hurt In Drive-By Shooting In Brick: Police

An 18-year-old was shot in the leg Saturday night in the Briar Mills development, police said.

BRICK, NJ — A Brick Township teen was injured Saturday night during a drive-by shooting in the Briar Mills development, Brick police said Sunday.

Jaquill Johnson, 18, suffered a gunshot wound in his right leg and was taken to Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune, for treatment, Brick Sgt. Jim Kelly said. Johnson's injuries do not appear to be life threatening, Kelly said.

Police were called about 11:30 p.m. to 187 Briar Mills Dr. for a report of multiple shots fired. There were no other injuries reported, Kelly said, and no weapon was found.

There have been no arrests but a coordinated investigation involving the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office, the Ocean County Sheriff’s Office and the Brick Police Department is ongoing.
